Seismos! 6.7 centred at Patras
Another shaker, this time early reports on Greek TV say it was a 6.7 and centred near Patras. Athens institute of seismology has it as a 6.5. Early indications are there has been a lot damage on the mainland. I wait to see what the professional seismologists rate it at, as these things are often overstated at first. One holiday maker in Agia Efimia ran down the street in a bit of a panic, Nikos called from his car hire office as she went by " Run, the next one coming is bigger!" :shock: TDC P.S. It's coming down!
La-*test*-('") reports have this afternoon's quake as not one but 2 quakes one after the other, the second one being 6.1 I think this is more reasonable and likely. One holiday maker in Agia Efimia ran down the street in a bit of a panic, Nikos called from his car hire office as she went by " Run, the next one coming is bigger!" I have been thinking about this, just where would you run down the street to???? In the time it takes a quake to run it's course, where ever you go it's happening there as well. So unless a building is coming down around your ears why run anywhere? TDC 8)
