:D Hi Legal Eagle, Can you help me???? I'm wanting to know if it would be possible for me to come to Kefalonia and purchase a piece of your lovely land??? I'm not a member of the EU or Greek and don't hold a Greek passport, where does this put me???????????????????? Gizzygirl

Purchase of land
In order for a non-European Union person to purchase land in Greece it is necessary to obtain a licence from the Greek Ministry of Defence. It is a procedure which usually takes 8 months time.

One thing which needs consideration as far as purchasing land in Kefalonia by a non-european person. If your mother or father is Greek and you can submit a certificate which will verify that she or he has greek nationality then you can buy land without the licence from the Greek ministry og Defence. In other words what it is required is to verify somehow that you are greek or your parents are Greek
