locations Hi Patsy.
Not sure if Skala is too commercialised. When put in comparison to other islands like corfu and crete, it is not commercialised at all. Besides there needs to be some commercial aspects to entertain the kids if they need it.
Agia Efimia is a lovely unspoilt location but it is true to say a touch quieter than Lassi and Skala.
You need a hire car to see the best bits on Kef. Try this web site
www.holidaykefalonia.com for accommodation in Skala and this web site www.astro-holidays.com for Agia Efimia.

Patsy Fish????
Takin' a chance on that darncats site with a name like that!!!!!
My kids, 16 & 12 last year love Kefalonia, they can't wait to go back this year.
We stayed in Agia Efimia, yes it is quiet and no real beach to speak of.
Lassi dosn't appeal to me, even though I haven't been there, although I did drive thru it and knew, in my mind, I was correct. Trouble is kids like English??? food and it's them you need to please to have half a shot at a decent holiday. I think Skala would be ideal. We are staying in Sarlata this year, hiring a car to tour the island. there are lovely beaches in that area but I don't know if it would appeal to young uns'.
One thing is for sure, you'll enjoy it!!!!!

You might think I am biased. But you can ask others. Agia Efimia is a town with all ages. And the youths are rather well behaved. We are fortunate in that we are centrally located to this part of Kefalonia. We have restuarants with(Greek Night),coffee shops, clothing shops, A pharmacy, two bakeries, post office, ATM machine and information center and still is a lovely, clean village.

Agia Efimia I agree Gloria, it is a place for all ages.
I remember reading about it before going there, a lot of comments were based on the 'sailing' lot, showing off with their boats. I never really noticed this, there were some fantastic 'boats' and I wouldn't have said no to anyone giving one away.
My wife used to say' wouldn't it be great if while walking past, the owner invited us on board for a drink'.................dream on love!!!
She reckons she would invite people on board if she owned one......wishful thinking eh!!!!
We did try to hire a villa in the village this year but couldn't find one, they were all booked by January.
Maybe next year. however we will be coming to the village for a lunch and to meet up with some people for a drink.

After that drink...stop by and have a cuppa? Hotel Moustakis has a sign that says HOTEL which is almost hidden by the olive trees. But when you see it, come in.. If you don't see anyone, ring the bell on the first table you see. I could be in the kitchen, or on the mezzanine level, but I'll be there as quick as possible. Sometimes I feel like Pazlov's dog. Ring the bell and her I show up out of now where.
