Kef newbie Never been to Kef before so I'm in "thirst for knowledge" mode.
I'm doing a bit of homework for next year's hols. We're a couple in our mid-fifties, and we like to rent a villa with a pool where we can chill during the day, then toddle into town (for town read village) in the evening for some grub. We like venues with a little bit of life, but not enough to attract the lad/laddette culture.
For anyone who knows them, we've just returned from Paxos, and Loggos & Lakka ticked all our boxes. However we like to see different places and what I've seen of Aghia Efimia makes me think it would fit the bill as well.
I've seen a villa that's available to us next July, but I'm slightly concerned at the comments I've read here and elsewhere about the extent of new building work going on in Ag Ef. I know there's always building going on in any Greek Isle, but just curious as to the degree of it here?

Don't worry Phylo, there is loads of development here! You will never get bored watching all the comings and goings of heavy plant :-D
............So if you are into digger and cement lorry spotting you will not be disappointed! I suspect you could fill your "Eye Spy" book and more in the first two days!
Phylo.........You are asking a question no one can answer with any degree of accuracy. A bit like asking how long is a piece of string.
Yes there is construction...err......everywhere, with any luck some development will slow a bit due to lack of tourists this year, thus no cash for next year. There is I note a price war amongst tour operators at the moment, as this year their numbers are down...shame! (ours aren't! :-D :-D 8) )
What I can promise you is a beautiful island, great people, and fantastic Tavernas.............sowaddoyawant eh?

Thanks TDC.
I fear She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed has her heart set on Meganissi next year, so Ag Ef may have to wait until 2010.
Still, maybe the By-Pass will be there by then!

Hi Phylo, I too have visited Paxos, Lakka and loggos I enjoyed it very much, trouble is, Paxos is only 8 miles long and walking up the centre of the island can be a little opressive because of the olive trees blocking out most of the view. If you cannot fing something on Kefalonia to occupy yourselves, you wont find it anywhere else, in my opinion.
but I hope you do! :-D
