Earthquake activity! I must admit I had intended to ignore the 5am earthquake on this board, the constant references to them get a bit boring after a while. Then in town this morning I learned of the 3 or 4 am earthquake, which I slept through! The 10 am earthquake could be ignored as well, but this afternoon there were a few tremors, and now another little earthquake a few minutes ago.
It seems holiday makers are getting value for money on the earthquake front, so to put their minds at rest I told those I saw in the coffee shop this morning that there had been several (oh! another little tremor!) just before the big one hit in '53

Then on my way home I got a little uncomfortable in my mind about tempting providence!
  Silly me!
Not sure if I can remember so many in such a short space of time before. (Like all within 18 hours) Any one else got previous experience like this?
Think I have quite successfully worried myself whilst trying to calm( ) tourists!

Don't know if you were around, but in August 2003 (50 years exactly to the day) there were a few little ones, and then there was the big one - 6.2.
I bloody felt that one as I watched the kids' bunk bed move two foot to the left and then to the right.
Our bed shook and swayed, and it was a concrete plinth on the floor!
Funny how you can plot how to save the family and get out of the window and jump twenty feet to the floor in under three seconds.

We were in Argostoli the Easter before last and had temors for a couple of days at least once or twice ever hour before finally...THE BIG ONE...a whopping 4.7. The locals getting worried by what was going to happen was far more exciting than the damp squib that we finally got. They then spent the next two days thinking that the 4.7 was only the precursor to...THE BIG ONE...it never arrived!
I'm not saying that it couldn't happen & lets hope that it doesn't, just be ready in case & worry in the meantime along with the rest of the locals! :Help:
