Blame the chinese!
Interesting concept put to me today, the world's problems are all the fault of the Chinese. Why? In the last few years 80 million of the blighters have left the farm and gone to the city! Industrial parks have sprung up everywhere and absorbing huge amounts of people who normally worked their paddy fields and existed on a bowl of rice a day. Now they want to spend their wages (getting a wage was an unknown experience previously) on Mcdonalds and steaks, motor cars and tellies. Consumerism has hit China big time! This has caused a huge demand for resources of every type and China does not have them. Hence they are buying oil, steel, cement etc. and food stuffs (wheat, sugar etc.) in such huge quantities just to satisfy their new found tastes. The net result is they are taking in such massive amounts of natural resources nearly all of which they cannot supply themselves. There are power cuts everyday as demand way outstrips the supply! Imagine a place where over forty million cars have been registered in the last few years! The petrol requirement. They do not care what they pay so as demand outstrips supply prices rise! They are a sponge absorbing everything the world can produce and more! We are snookered, now Rio Tinto have agreed a new deal for steel (all they can make in Oz and are charging 97% more than last year. Makes you think eh? TDC 8)
