Adverse Publicity???? There is no such thing as adverse publicity.
Kefalonia is the epitome of this.
Thanks to the predicted earthquake on the 30th July last we were headline news nationally and in some quarters internationally.
Thankfully, 30th July passed with a whimper.
End result, Kefalonia is enjoying its busiest August for years. Beaches packed, roads busy etc.
Give that Lecturer a medal. We all know there is 'no such thing as adverse publicity'.
Any ideas for 2009?

That Darn Cat- 08-16-2008
Very true! This is of course very true. The public's memory can at times be very selective. You remember the name, place or event but all too often not in what context.
However that said, we were in To Perasma last night (with DTG and lady wife) and Angelos remarked it was strange to see us as it was still August and he knew we avoided the town during this period because of the huge influx of Italians and Mainland Greeks who tend to make the place impossible to enjoy a quiet meal. They move the furniture about, shout and their kids run about screaming.....UGH! We were there because this year it is possible to do just that. Yes the place is busy now and the panic of "will they, won't they" come has largely been answered....they are here! but I am not sure in quite the same numbers as last year. Not in Agia Efimia anyway. The place just does not seem as busy as last year when you could not move for Italians. Anyway after this week end things start to settle down again and those really nice and polite Brits return in September!
Maybe a Tsunami warning for 2009???????
